The Brighton Christmas Tree Recycling poem

You gave me light and sang to me, you put your presents under me.
You shared your Christmas Day with glee, but now I have to leave.

Another such as I will come, when you go out in winter sun
To buy another tree next time, on a sparkling Christmas Eve.

Remember this, that when you slept, I wasn’t just all motion less. I danced with lights around my head. When you were tucked up in your bed.

Every tree was doing the same. So, I’ve let slip our little game. Please remember to recycle me. From your little Christmas tree.
